Do we make room for God's Word?

As believers I know that we love the Word of God. It is God’s Word in Psalm 119:105 that says, “Your Word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.” It is one of those Scriptures that most of us can quote and are fond of repeating, as it becomes a prayer that we will speak back to God.

To me this really becomes the major point. Do we make enough room for God’s Word within us so that we can use His Word to speak life into our situations, and those that we love? Are we familiar enough with Scripture that we can, and will, use it as a weapon of prayer to attack a circumstance that is attempting to undermine what is good in our life?

Making room for God’s Word is a deliberate decision to read, understand, memorize, and then to put it into practice. It becomes a game changer when we are so full of the Word of God that it is readily available to use when we need it, and if you are like me, you need it all the time! Moment to moment, we all find ourselves in a better place when it is not our words that we are looking to draw lasting strength from, but when we are quick to recognize that we need to use God’s Word instead.

Isaiah 49:8 CSB “The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the Word of God remains forever.”
