I know that this might be a long question, but I felt I could not leave any words out. What I want to share is simple and very straightforward. It will not take much explaining, in fact, it will be better to let it stand on its own. It really is about there being power in the power of suggestion.
As you know my husband has spent a couple weeks in the hospital, and now that we are home, I was reflecting on our experiences during that time. What I discovered is that when you need to be taken care of, God brings the right people around you. You may not even realize it at the time, but at some point you will understand that you have been impacted by the people you have encountered. With each of these encounters they become part of your personal story, and whereas you may choose to forget memories associated with pain, you will choose to remember the people.
For some time now there has been a clash reported by journalists, politicians, clergy, and many more. They are speaking out boldly that we are divided, torn apart by our differences, and that it is impossible to bridge this gap. Is it possible that because we continually hear so much that is negative we are beginning to believe it? Is it possible that where once we experienced community, we are now told that it doesn’t exist, and never did?
A hospital functions like a miniature city, and it takes many people to keep it running smoothly. We saw excellency in work ethic, loyalty, respect, and good attitudes shown to one another. As an outsider looking in I felt I had a great perspective on this truth. I know that there will always be people who are difficult to get along with, but if we start labeling individuals, then we will lose the fundamental joy of humanity.
Psalm 133:1 “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”
