We have all been given gifts and talents that separate us from one another, even looking at another’s talents and seeing similarities, there will be clear-cut differences. Quite deliberately, we will find that we will shape, and bring a unique mix that will distinguish us from each other.
Recently, when I was thinking on this subject, I was reflecting on how there are certain aspects of who I am, that I passionately pursue. One such passion is writing. I am compelled to write what I am seeing and experiencing, and even if I don’t sense real significance in the words, it does not stop me. Someone who is called to write must write, a painter must paint, a runner must run, a singer must sing, and so on down the line. You get the idea. We can deny this part of us for only so long, before it demands to be free.
We have all witnessed individuals who we know are in their element. They are doing what they were created to do. We see the impact they are making, and how effortless it is for them to achieve success in their area of influence. When we see people functioning at this level, it motivates us to closely examine our own life.
Essentially, we are looking for that personal peace that comes from knowing we are on the right path. Meanwhile, we are using our talents to the upmost, exercising our need to fulfill all that has been deposited within us as we intentionally look for clues to further discoveries.
I believe that the talents we are given are meant to bless us and others, as it can be these that the Lord will use to help that lost person find their way to Him. These gifts and talents fulfill a purpose that brings God glory, while also satisfying that need in us to further understand our calling, a calling that I will not stop pursuing until I do.
1 Peter 4:10 NIV "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."
