Being totally honest, I am asking if the words in Scripture are real enough to you that they bring comfort, and direction when you need it most? Are they what you will turn to before you seek your answers from any other source?
I believe trusting in God's word is a process. An important aspect of that process is a working relationship with God, a relationship based on the understanding that above everything else He loves us. When we feel loved it is easier to trust, believing that what we know to be true is reliable and sound.
God's word is meant to keep us safe and moving towards Him directly, not indirectly. His word is not elusive or meant to cause us to stumble, but have a direct path to His goodness.
Hebrews 4:12 NLT For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
