What spiritual food are you eating?

When we lived in England, some years ago, a friend and I would often go to lunch. On one such occasion she told me that she loved feeling full. She was surprised when I said that I liked the feeling that I needed to eat more, rather than being satiated from my last meal. I realize that I am this way still, so my desire is to eat more often in smaller more digestible amounts.

When I relate this to how I partake of God's Word, I am not much different. I want to be seeking out the spiritual nourishment that I need daily and consistently. My preference is to dive in for small bites, and then savor those portions to the fullest, as I chew on them over and over.

Food that strengthens the body and soul is found in its purest form in the Word of God. When we are consuming His truth we will experience the evidence of spiritual transformation. A transformation that will make us hungry for more, and where we will return to the table again and again. Once we are feeding ourselves well, inviting others to share in the feast will be a regular occurrence.

Jeremiah 15:16 NKJV   Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.

Do we demonstrate confidence in God's saving grace?
