Is kindness easily overlooked these days?

Many of you know that I love the woman in Proverbs 31, and I will often use that Scripture to bring a point into the light. A point that has blessed me countless times, and one that I hope will bless you, too!

The Proverbs 31 woman is aware of the impact that she has on those that know her well. She remains constant in her actions, so that even strangers she meets will recognize a woman of quality. She is known for possessing wisdom and kindness, and it is this example that will lead others to seek her out. This woman is trustworthy with even the smallest of confidences.

Wisdom in matters of speech is important, as it brings godly accountability into what is being said. Proverbs 31:26, she opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness.

Our woman is fully aware that she must possess sound judgment and keep a guard over her tongue, for if she does not, she knows that she can carelessly bring unwarranted pain into the lives of others. On the other hand, by choosing her words carefully, she brings joy and a certainty of blessing to whoever is involved in conversation with her.  Others will know that she speaks not out of pride, but with humility and self-assurance that is the result of walking with God.

Ephesians 4:32 is a Scripture that bears witness to who she is and how relationships matter to her. Her words are dependable and given with the upmost regard to others, even when those words are used to bring correction. For this reason, she is sensitive to the responsibility that she carries, as she is a woman of authority, speaking God’s grace into life situations.

Ephesians 4:32  NIV  Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
