This was something that came up the other day in a Bible study that I attend. The idea was that sometimes we just feel that because we are not seeing anything going on, God isn’t doing anything. As we really meditated on this we realized that it is not even possible. There is enough Scripture pointing to the reality that God never stops doing! Just as He never stops speaking to us in all situations and under every circumstance. God speaks, but it may be that we just aren’t hearing Him because we are so busy speaking ourselves.
The other day, we touched on our stones of remembrance that take us back to when we cried out to God and He showed Himself strong. During those times, we remembered the strength that He demonstrated, as He answered us in our time of need. A time that we thought nothing was happening until suddenly it happened! It is those sudden revelations that make us realize that the preparations being done, putting every detail in place, make a major difference in the outcome, and remember, Jesus is always in the details.
Just like we watch a movie and have to patiently wait for one event to roll into another, so it is as we wait on God. There are times when the nothing we see is God’s perfect timing to reveal the something.
If you are waiting on God to show you what He is doing today, perhaps you need to just remind yourself of how He moved yesterday. We can’t put God in a box, so things will never be exactly the same, but we can take strength in the fact that we are never forgotten. We may lose track of time, but God created time, and He is good all the time!
2 Corinthians 6:2 NKJ For He says; “In an acceptable time I have heard you. And in the day of salvation I have helped you. Behold, now is the day of salvation.”
