The other day I was reading a devotional that Oswald Chambers had written many years ago. In it, he shared that without inspiration that comes from God, we will not have the spiritual initiative to press on for long before we lose interest. He further expressed with personal certainty that when we are inspired by the Holy Spirit in our work, regardless of the level, we will see an outcome that is dramatic.
I later reflected on my own experiences in life, both past and present. I laid them alongside this Oswald Chambers observation and what I found was not surprising. Those things that I endeavored to accomplish personally were not necessarily without merit, or success, but those things that I felt inspired by the Spirit of God to pursue had a very redeeming outcome.
When I felt called to minister to women, and with women, I knew it was right. The reason it was right was because I could look and see the fruitful evidence from many years past. Even with the many challenges and disappointments along the way, I knew the fit was absolutely perfect for me.
I am excited by women who seek to know God, are empowered by His Word, and who seek intimacy in relationship with Him. When God inspires us to follow His leading into a certain area, and we obediently respond, we are heading into astonishing territory. I might even go so far as to say it is what we were created to do!
Exodus 35:31-33 CSB He has filled him with God’s Spirit, with wisdom, understanding, and ability in every kind of craft to design artistic works in gold, silver, and bronze, to cut gemstones for mounting, and to carve wood for work in every kind of artistic craft.
