Are there mountains looming before you?

I was listening to a teaching recently about the perceived mountains that are blocking us from getting to the promises of God. I like that word perceived because from God’s perspective those mountains that we think are preventing us from moving forward are actually non-existent.

The expression that comes to mind is the one which asks, “Are we making a mountain out of mole hill?” What I find interesting is the suggestion that we have the power to create a mountain out of a mere mole hill. Such is the creative power of our words to bless or to curse ourselves and others.

A mountain blocking us from getting to our purpose, our promises, or our destiny, certainly is not from God. The Father who loves us would not give us a promise, and then block us from getting to that promise.

A young anointed man of God said, “If you sense a ceiling over you, keeping you from getting where you know God has called you to be, then visualize that ceiling as a floor.” A floor is obviously under our feet, there to support us, not to prevent us from moving higher. I thought this analogy was brilliant.

When we start visualizing a clear path forward, in keeping with God’s Word, then I know that things will change for us. First off, our perspective will no longer limit us, but will give us the keys to freedom. And secondly, those mountains that we see looming before us can truly be cast into the sea, because they are no bigger than a mole hill.

Mark 11:23 (Passion Translation) Listen to the truth I speak to you: If someone says to this mountain with great faith and having no doubt, “Mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the midst of the sea, and believes that what he says will happen, it will be done.”

Has God given us an anointing in areas of personal pain?
