There is a woman that I follow on Instagram named Christine Caine. She is a believer, a speaker, an author, and someone who is passionate about activating every woman’s potential. Her platform is to empower all women to be the very best that they can be, and she has taken it a step further in that she is seriously involved in ending slavery everywhere in the world. She happens to be a woman who is small in stature, but who packs a powerful punch as she speaks.
Christine asked the above question and then made the following statement. She said, “They don’t need to understand your journey because it is not for them.” Reading that statement was not only powerful, but I have to believe it was very freeing for everyone who came across it.
Have you ever had the experience where you are trying to explain who you are and for some reason the explanation gets lost in translation. Basically, you see it very plainly, but the challenge is making it clear to the next person. It’s when something means a lot to you, and you get its significance, but then when you attempt to tell another person about it it just doesn’t come out right. The other interesting part of this is when you keep trying to explain it even when you know they aren’t getting it, and yet you hate to leave them with that faraway look. Does it sound familiar? I know that I can relate.
I can also relate to when too much information is just too much information. Unless, a person has walked closely with you then the likelihood of them understanding where you are going is not a guarantee.
For me, I still own my journey and although I love it when others get me, I just can’t wait on their understanding, or approval. I must press on and enjoy my journey and you must do the same.
Philippians 3:14-16 CSB I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus. Therefore, let all of us who are mature think this way. And if you think differently about anything, God will reveal this also to you. In any case, we should live up to whatever truth we have attained.
