Have you told them how you feel?

There is a young woman that I see each day when I order my coffee. She is consistently pleasant, and yet she is so much more than this because she displays joy across her face that just makes you feel better. Many say that they need that first cup of coffee in the morning to get them going, but I say we need more people like this to start our day.

Yesterday, I was able to tell this very young woman that I so appreciate her care and concern. She takes her job and uses it as a platform to share love, something which we all know this world needs in abundance. “What the world needs now is love” was a song written and first recorded in 1965. So, 54 years ago people were singing of love and it hasn’t changed, but where a song can be forgotten, what love accomplishes will live on forever.

Wherever we live in the world we have the ability to change our environment by love, and nothing else has this profound power. As believing women we understand that this is more than just a wish, it is a command. We must put love into action as we interact with all of those we meet. It is no small feat, but no one ever said it was going to be easy.

1 John 4:20 makes it very clear when it states, “If anyone says, I love God, and yet hates his brother or sister, he is a liar. For the person who does not love his brother or sister whom he has seen cannot love God who he has not seen.”

Absolutely no getting around this one! We either love or we don’t, as there is no middle ground, and remember we don’t have to be in agreement to love. The command is not to agree, it is to love.

John 13:34-35 CSB “I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Is there a greater cost in breaking the rules?

Has pain become a distraction?
