There is so much happening, and so quickly these days, that many may feel overwhelmed by the shear amount of information that is being put forth. However, we the church, the body of Christ, must not allow weariness to cause us to stop seeking truth. If we do not seek truth, then we are settling for, in agreement with, whatever is being cast at us. What is happening today is not just for this generation, but as in the Bible, what happens with one generation is imperative to future generations walking with God. If we decide to just sit this one out, then we are putting everything that is dear to us at risk.
You may think that this sounds like the recent US elections, and certainly I am referring to that as a catalyst, but it is so much more than the election, and our choice for president. This is about a country that was founded by God, set in place by His statutes, in danger of becoming a nation that ceases to honor God. The church, the body of Christ, can not allow this to happen. We must walk in the anointing of the sons of Issachar.
The sons of Issachar were one of the twelve tribes of Israel. They knew what to do and when to do it. This group of people had such perception, and wisdom that an entire nation followed them. This nation so trusted that this tribe was hearing from God that they waited for their interpretation of the meaning of events.
We the church have Holy Spirit and it is the Spirit of God that leads us into all truth. Holy Spirit is ready and always willing to give us spiritual wisdom, and the interpretation of the times in which we live.
We the church, whether in the states, or anywhere on the globe, must put our spiritual thinking caps back on, seek Holy Spirit revelation, and take appropriate action. How that functions in our lives will be individual, but it must be on the forefront of what we do. Do our lives depend upon it. Absolutely yes!
1 Chronicles 12:32 “of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred, and all their brethren were counted at their command.”
