Are you sitting comfortably?

This question has been in my draft for several months, and although I knew it was relevant when I wrote it down, it has remained untouched until today. But, this morning as I was reading in Isaiah it was brought back to mind. This is not an unusual occurrence for me. Back in March of this year this question was pertinent enough to make mention of, but until now I really did not have a word. However, the Lord knows what we need to understand and hear, and His timing is impeccable.

In this life when we think of sitting comfortably it often has to do with finainacal security. We can look at another individual and see what we perceive as a life of wealth, and judge it to be a place of ease. And yet this place of ease should be what all believers experience. Jesus tells us when we come to Him our yoke is easy and our burden is light because we are yoked to Him. (Matthew 11:25-30) When we are yoked to Jesus He is the one who pulls the heavy weight, not us.

Jesus told us we would have tribulations, distress, and suffering, but to remember He is our key to victory in this life. (John 16:33)

When we read the Scriptures, we understand that sitting comfortably is about Jesus alone. He is the one who brings the lasting peace that we need. His peace is not of this world, nor is it attached to the things of this world. in other words, it is an eternal gift that must be obtained through one source, and that source is Jesus.

Thinking again on the Scripture in Isaiah, that got me going today, it is clear that from the very beginning there has been a plan in place for us. That plan was Jesus, for He alone is our lasting comfort. Jesus sits on His throne in heaven and bids us to come as we move into deep relationship with Him. It is that deep calling unto deep, that revelation from Holy Spirit leading to even further revelation, and it is our adoption into the family of God that has made it our eternal reality.

Isaiah 55:1-3 EVERYONE WHO thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money come, buy grain and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost (simply accept it as a gift from God). Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your earnings for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good. and let your soul delight in abundance. Incline your ear (to listen) and come to Me; hear so that your soul may live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, according to the faithful mercies (promised and) shown to David.

Is it me or are You showing me something?

How are you stewarding your miracle?
