What is your personal mandate?

I believe when I first wrote this question is was because I was thinking of what God has called me to do. It is so amazing that it always seems to get down to what we are doing for the Lord, and what we think is our best path forward to accomplish all that He has called us to do. Yet, I must go in a different direction.

We seem to think that everything we do for the Lord is for Him, but often it is more about us. Have any of you recently felt that with all that you do, with all that you desire, it has become more about you and less about Him? This is not meant to question your heart, your motives, or how well you hear from Holy Spirit. This is just my sense as I sit listening to Holy Spirit for what He wants me to convey in my post.

I feel we are to make Jesus our mandate. We are to put Him first at the beginning of each day. We are to wait on Jesus to speak. We are to seek out Jesus for Jesus, not for what He can do through our calling, our gifts, or our talents. Jesus wants us to just want Jesus, making Him our priority. A priority that is for each moment of each day.

My personal mandate is simple. Make time to be with Jesus, soak in the glory of Jesus, find contentment and peace in being close to the one I love, and the One who loves me! Spending time with Jesus is really all He truly wants from us, as He Himself declares in Matthew 11:28, “Come to Me.”

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “ I am the (only) Way (to God) and the (real) Truth and the (real) Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

What can we expect God to do when the enemy comes in to destroy us?

Is joy your normal?
