Fellowship is critical to lasting unity, so isolation can be used as a weapon of the enemy to keep the people of God apart. The Bible exhorts the importance of the fellowship of the saints (the consecrated people of God) as a means to strengthen the body of Christ. When the body does not gather together, exercising the gifts of the Spirit, there is a weakening among the members that becomes decidedly obvious.
It is in this separation that an individual can look to live out what looks good in their own eyes, neglecting to use God’s Word to build up themselves and others in the most holy faith.
When the people of God come together in unity, as community, and to worship as one body, they are coming together in love. It is this act of love for each other that is in obedience to Jesus, who commanded us to love one another.
It is difficult to experience the love that is shared in the room, when you are not in the room. The comforting words spoken, that are in affirmation to God’s Word, are used to break off yokes that the enemy uses to keep people in offense and apart.
