Where has the time gone?

While at the nail salon today I heard women remarking that our days are fleeting. We operate in high speed, and life seems to get faster and faster. The truth is everyone seems to be remarking on this, and no one is liking it. We hardly have time to digest today before it is just a memory.

The question becomes do we try to slow it down, or do we just let go and embrace the inevitable. In the meantime have we left behind unfinished business, even as a new day has grabbed our attention. It can be that unfinished business that specifically pertains to our calling, and clearly we don't want to leave that behind.

In Psalm 90:12 David says, "so teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom."

I love this scripture because to me it embraces the importance of each day that we have, and our need of that heart of wisdom to live life to the fullest. For without intentionally seeking that wisdom we might find we have missed the point all together. It means pausing to assess where we are, and where we need to be.

I believe the key is to examine the day and time in which we find ourselves, for in doing this we will understand the path we must take.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.
