Asking questions will often get us to a place that we wouldn’t get to otherwise.
Jesus asked, “What do you want Me to do for you?” We know that Jesus knew the answer to the question that He was asking because of His divine nature. Irregardless of this fact, Jesus asked this all important question because He wanted the individual before Him to state their desire.
The Word of God is very clear when it says in Philippians 4:19 to make our petitions known to God, and in Mark 10:51 where Jesus asked the blind man “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said what I believe most of us would have naturally assumed he would say. Jesus who healed him immediately, also told him it was his faith that restored his sight.
Jesus asked the question, and then knowing that the blind man had faith in the Healer to accomplish what he asked, he was healed. The blind man’s faith to ask for what some would say was impossible opened the door to healing. He was able to receive his healing because he believed that it would come through Jesus.
Hebrews 11:1 NKJV Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
