Do you like surprises?

The other day I was reading about the Holy Spirit and I believe that I had a real moment that was a life changer for me. What I want to share is something that may not be news to you, but it was so powerful that it has changed by perception of the Holy Spirit.

When I pray it is very customary for me to invite the Holy Spirit to join me in my time, and I do know that He comes. Once I have invited Him I believe He is present, but sadly I then think I overlook Him. Not outwardly, or intentionally, but I think that once the routine of inviting Him has been covered, I now just carry on. But, today I realized that it can be like inviting a guest for dinner then not actually acknowledging that they are in the room.

I believe that today the Holy Spirit used those quiet moments when I was reading about Him to really show me who I am inviting, and then ignoring. To say I felt remorse is true, but then I felt such a joyful connection to Him that the remorse was gone and I was just bathed in the knowledge that I know who it is I am inviting. The head understanding that I always thought was driven by my heart, was suddenly turned upside down.

Let me say that He, the Third Person of the Trinity is beautiful and He is waiting patiently to be acknowledged fully for who He is. I was sad, but that sadness has been turned to utter gladness as I know in my heart that I have experienced the Holy Spirit of God, and He is my personal Friend.

Thank you, Holy Spirit. I am humbled.

John 15:26 NKJV “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.

Who sets your pace?

What do you want me to do for you?
