I recently shared a favorite Scripture with some friends, Jeremiah 33:3 says in the Christian Standard Bible, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and wondrous things you do not know.”
This Scripture is exciting to me because I want to know great and wondrous things! There is much that I experience in my relationship with God, but there will aways be more that I am hungry to know and understand. When I look through my journals I realize that this has become an ongoing theme. I am continually asking the Lord for a deeper knowledge of who He is, which than translates into a clearer picture of who I am. My relationship with God will always be in tandem with an understanding of His identity and how I am woven into that identity.
There is but One that reveals such great and wondrous things to believers. He is the One who searches out the deep things of God, so that He can reveal these things to us. God’s Spirit, the Holy Spirit is He who teaches us the things of God that we long to know and understand. His desire is that we would be full of wisdom, and that we would use that wisdom to interpret the things that He deposits within our spirits.
1 Corinthians 2:12-13 CSB Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God. We also speak these things, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people.
Jeremiah 51:15 CSB He made the earth by His power, established the world by His wisdom, and spread out the heavens by His understanding.
