Are you being called to a place that you didn't expect?

I believe that we must be people who are quick to adjust to a new direction, and do it with joy. Every time that God moved our family it was for a distinct purpose. An onlooker might assume that it was job related, but that was just part of the equation. The real mission lie in what we needed to pick up, and the assignment that was close at hand. We never left one place for another that we were not able to look back to see what we learned, and how necessary that piece was to our walk.

In many ways each time we gather a new piece of knowledge, or understanding, it is adding to the fabric of our lives. Each of us has our own unique calling that requires us to be in a specific place. I know that I have mentioned this before, but it is true once again. God is not random, and He never does random. When we find ourselves in a place we didn’t expect, it may be a surprise to us, but it certainly is not to God. This personally gives me much comfort, and I imagine you may feel the same way.

For me, what is key in finding myself in an unexpected place, is not about liking or disliking where I am, but in knowing that God has orchestrated it all from the beginning. All that was necessary to get me to this place is just part of the journey of life. It is definitely never boring, never without a new adventure looming over the next hill, and never done alone.
