When did you last exercise the power in your fingertips?

Seeing a woman stroke the hair on her child's head brought an instant smile to my face. There is such power in physical touch for both young and old. We all need to feel the warmth of another’s hand, as well as experience their physical presence. Think of how wonderful it is to have someone wash your hair and your feet! I love it, because even though I am paying for the service, it brings me joy and a level of peace. Now imagine you are able to give that kind of joy and peace to someone you love.

It becomes the language of touch that delivers what is unspoken, when words will not come. Last night I stroked the head of a beloved aunt. It was the only communication we were able to have between us, but I know it brought me peace.  I can only hope that she felt my nearness, and knew that my hand conveyed much that was in my heart.

We have the ability to bring comfort through a mere embrace, or the gentle contact of an extended hand, and sometimes it is more than enough to make all the difference.

Jesus touched many and brought healing and comfort to broken diseased bodies.

Luke 6:19  says, “And the people tried to touch Him, because power was coming from Him and healing them all.”

What makes you sing?

What is fear keeping from you?
