This question was one I felt prompted to ask some years ago, and although metaphorical, I have continued to ponder it on occasion. It is one that compels you to ask yourself other questions, as it helps define your answer.
I might ask who makes me sing, or when do I feel that I am free to sing. These questions cause me to dig deeper within myself for answers, even as I ask how important is it to sing in the first place.
I know that by singing, I am declaring that I have found something to sing about, that whatever I was searching for I have found, and it has given me joy. It can mean that my calling is near. That I am being drawn to a new thing, not within my reach in the past, but something I now see as very possible. Whatever it is, I know that what makes us sing will be different, but that each of us will experience the freedom we need to truly be ourselves.
When we find our passion it ignites an excitement within us that changes our life dramatically. For many of us, it is what we have been praying to find, and when that revelation comes it brings a relevant piece of us into view. So, revelant it makes us want to sing!
Isaiah 30:29 says, “ The people of God will sing a song of joy.”
