Are you a woman of a certain age?

I know that I have many readers that are close to my age, and many that are not. My desire is to relate to women across the board, and not one particular group. After all, I have passed through the decades, which you are either coming up to, or presently find yourselves in now. Regardless, we have much to share with each other.

My daughters are busy women in their thirties, raising families, and pursuing directions where they know they are called. Even as I have already passed through this time in my life, it remains acutely fresh as I witness it first hand through them. It brings me joy and satisfaction, when I see how they have grown into the women that I envisioned when they were small girls.

The important point in this is that you have value, and extreme worth, regardless of your age. We all have come through experiences that can benefit others, and we should not forget this, or allow negativity to stop us in our tracks. If we permit voices to speak into our lives that are counter to growth, then we need to stop listening. I see it as that simple. We all need to remain teachable, engaged, and excited about today and tomorrow.

Last year an elderly aunt, who suddenly found herself confined to her bed, told me she viewed it as her next new adventure. We certainly have a lot to learn from such a dynamic attitude.

Don’t dismiss or devalue what someone older than you has to say, and likewise, if you are that woman of a certain age, don’t miss out on listening to that fresh voice. We all have a unique perspective that we should respect and value.

Psalm 92:14 NIV " They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green."

Do you recognize when God is at work?

Does your closet need updating?
