I need to be surrounded by people who desire to know their purpose and are excited as they experience all it means to walk towards their destiny. Truthfully, we all are getting closer and closer to our destiny as we function in our calling, activating all that we have come to realize as believers of Jesus. This life is not without direction and joy. It is full of potential, and it inspires others who see what God is doing with us. We must not hide our blessings but acknowledge God’s influence.
Contrary to a life that is predicable, we live out of expectations for new adventures each day. This keeps us seeking.
The next question may be to ask if you feel that you are on your way? Do you have a passion for what is going on in your life? Do you think it is instrumental in getting you to a place, that place, where you know you ultimately must be?
Bruce Wilkinson wrote the book "A Life God Rewards", and in it he said something I have never forgotten. He said it was important to live for the line and not for the dot. I need to be putting energy into what will benefit my line, for the dot alone is small with no guarantee that it will get me closer to my destiny. I need to be a person traveling along that line with others who see the importance of life’s choices and how those choices serve to benefit many. It is always beneficial to travel with those who share a mutual interest or goal with you. That mutual interest extends beyond likes and dislikes, to the deeper spiritual things that we are seeking to know. This idea may sound daunting, but the fact is, it's what carries us into eternity.
Philippians 3:13-14 ESV Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But, one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
