When I was growing up I always knew when my father wanted me home. He would stand at the end of the driveway. Other dads would whistle or call, my dad would just stand. His presence there was my call to come home.
The same is true with the Lord. His Presence is calling us to obedience, to come from where we find ourselves, to where He now desires us to be. We must respond quickly, trusting that His calling will confirm that; we will find ourselves where we were always destined to be!
Now is not the time to be complacent, or discontented as we wait, but with acute awareness we must be ready to respond to His calling. We are all called to action by the Father's Presence.
My fathers message was always clear. I knew he wanted me home, and so I responded. God calls us to Him in the same way. His Presence and calling should always be enough for us to jump into action.
Psalm 42:1-2 NIV "As the deer pants for streams of water so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?"
