Shall we start with virtue?

Virtue is not a word you commonly hear these days. It is like it belongs to a different era. When we hear women expounding on why they admire another woman we seldom if ever hear virtue mentioned. For indeed, by definition it implies moral excellence, goodness, and righteousness.

Is it possible that it isn't mentioned because it is not openly pursued? In the days in which we live it has become very acceptable to speak with an unfiltered tongue, and to believe it somehow brings empowerment. In fact, empowerment has become the trend, and the word itself used to defend various platforms associated with these times.

When I consider the meaning of virtue, in regard to behavior, it does not mean that an individual is without a voice. It does mean that the voice she uses is one where her moral character is both obvious and uncompromising when it comes to what she believes. She will not try to offend or bully anyone into agreement, nor will she allow another to put her in that place. Instead she will maintain her position remaining true to her cause.

There are many young women who are looking for both guidance and someone to show them the way. The danger comes when they are following a figure who has become morally corrupt and yet gives the impression of trustworthiness. With a mantle of authority there must be careful consideration for the responsibility it carries to influence in the right spirit. Not a sprit of self gratification, but a spirit of holiness.

Ruth 3:11 NIV And now, my daughter, don't be afraid. I will do for you all that you ask. All the people of my town know that you are a woman of noble character.

Have we allowed our men to appear weak?

How would you define a spirit of innovation?
