Have we allowed our men to appear weak?

Do you agree that while women are perceived as being able to do everything, somehow men have taken on the role of looking like the fool? We see it especially in movies and in commercials. While whoever is writing these scripts seems to have an agenda, I know that I can't come into agreement with what is clearly spelled out.

As a woman who has a strong man, I know I would have a hard time following some of the men who are portrayed today. It is like society has begun an emasculation process right before us and we are expected to agree.

There is a battle raging right now with regard to the disgraceful behavior of men who have victimized women. This is a real issue and one which has finally come to light, but this post is not speaking of those men, or men like them. I am referring to believing men who respect and understand their responsibility to honor women.

The man will have a difficult time seeing himself as the spiritual head of the family if he is not respected as such. We know that the Bible outlines right order, both parties yielded and equally yoked together, where one is not trying to dominate the other. Side by side respectfully bringing honor to each other through a loving relationship. A relationship that mirrors the Trinity.

If we can achieve this kind of relationship with our spouse, then we have surpassed the norms of today which tell us how we should behave towards each other. In return, we should see men treating women like they deserve to be treated, and behaving like the men that God always intended they should be.

Ephesians. 5:28 NLT  In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself.

Is the road calling out to you?

Shall we start with virtue?
