Wisdom has in itself more attributes than can easily be counted, but when that same wisdom is Spirit lead the outcome is immeasurable. We will witness the power of God as we seek agreement with His word.
The word of God speaks implicitly about healing, even as it calls us into a different level of belief. God's word is asking us to put our reliance on the finished work of Christ, first and foremost. Asking us to avoid the tendency to force God's word to fit into what our intellect tells us, and take His word as verbatim. God and His word will always be able to stand alone, and our faith must be in this truth.
Wisdom is a tool that I have personally witnessed as a means to healing. It is a tool that is not working under its own power, but intimately with the full guidance of the Holy Spirit. What has become very clear is that without the Spirit's leading we can easily be pulled in an obscure direction, and find ourselves off the desired mark.
Jack is my husband. He has been using insulin for over 25 years to manage his blood sugars, but he is a man with a very strong belief in God's ability to heal. Jack has never come into agreement with diabetes, but has stood firm in his knowledge of God's healing power, a power that is real and miraculous. Jack has always maintained that one day he would be off of insulin.
In March Jack read an article by a doctor at Duke University Hospital. He brought forth the notion that it was possible for a person with Type 2 Diabetes to come off of insulin by eliminating all but 20 grams of carbohydrates daily, and entering into a fat burn through healthy fats, vegetables and meats. After sufficient research confirming the validity of the data, and praying for the Lord's release, we proceeded. In one day Jack came off of insulin and has been off for just short of 3 months. Yesterday he saw his endocrinologist who confirmed that his blood work testified to blood sugars within normal range.
We know that the Holy Spirit opened Jack's spirit to look at the wisdom behind eating in this way, not only for its nutritional value, but for the healing that presented itself.
God can and does heal, but it is entirely His choice as to how He brings about that healing. From my perspective I know that the power of agreement has been what has kept the door open to healing all of these years. My husband maintained his agreement with God and His healing grace, as did I.
James 1:5 NIV If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
