Do you confidently face the future?

I have mentioned before that I love the woman in the Proverbs 31 Scripture. Each time I read about such a woman, I want further insight into what it really means to me personally to understand her. Since she was important enough to include in the Bible, I feel compelled to take note of her attributes. This is a recent conclusion I have come to regarding her worth.

It is with hope and assurance that our woman is ready to face what lies ahead.  Proverbs 31:21, she is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet

The scarlet speaks of more than just color. Scarlet implies a double thickness, which is important for warmth against the elements of winter. She is preparing her family, as well as herself, for inclement weather that could have an adverse effect, threatening their well being, if she has not thought it through carefully. Her actions declare that those that depend on her will not be exposed to harm.

She is someone that takes seriously her responsibility, and who is not likely to leave important decisions randomly for another to solve, decisions that could impact the people that she loves. They are prepared for the future because she has intentionally put into action the necessary steps to achieve the goals that are before her. She is not frightened because she trusts in God, and believes that He has given her all that she needs to ready herself.

Even as I expound on her merit, I am certain that we are not excluded from such insight or tangible ability in our own lives.

I presently know two women who are preparing to make a move based on where God is leading them and their families. They are thoughtfully thinking through all the preparations that are necessary for their departure, taking steps as guided by the Holy Spirit, and trusting that they will be ready for the days ahead. To me they are a perfect working example of what this woman in Scripture is fundamentally all about as they look confidently upon their new prospects!

Isaiah 41:13 NIV For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

Will we seek truth even if it brings correction?

Can we talk about Jesus?
