Can we talk about Jesus?

I have been meditating on what it means to have a relationship with the Lord.

It is amazing to me that this relationship, although it appears easy to define, it is not.  Not easy because it is forever evolving to become so much more. It is by its very nature a relationship that does not understand limits or boundaries, but instead will continue on forever. For all eternity we will be growing deeper in our relationship with the One who created everything we know now and all that is yet to be revealed.

This relationship is living, just as Jesus lives, and for that reason alone it is beyond our ability to define its value based on this world. We need just know and believe in our spirit that without Him in our lives we would be empty, and living without true meaning.

For me the defining character of the one who I am in relationship with, who brings peace and security, can only be Jesus. He is someone who is capable of everything that I need both now and in the future.

Even as I love my family and friends there is no one that can deliver me into that place of rest except Jesus, He feeds my soul and keeps me steady in this dark world.

It is the kind of relationship that gives you the freedom to say and demonstrate all that is going on inside, without fear of rejection or condemnation. In this relationship we are called by the Holy Spirit, and we are defined by the Person who we love and who loves us in return.

Isaiah 53:3-5 NIV   He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces, he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him and afflicted. But, he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Do you confidently face the future?

What does it mean to be approved by God?
