Do you desire a life of excellence?

For as long as I can remember our family has been praying that we would have a spirit of excellence. We prayed this when our children were in school, and for my husband and I at work. We knew that this would change how we worked and interacted with others. This was a personal prayer, but actually our praying for excellence affected everyone we came in contact with throughout our day. In seeking excellence we were bringing understanding, wisdom, and compassion into our environment.

Have you noticed that when your attitude exemplifies the Lord you witness a softening of people and their attitudes?  This softening is not just towards you, either. If you observe individuals who have been the recipient of your kindness for any length of time, you will see that they in turn will treat others with more respect and concern.

All this and more, just because you and I desire to walk in excellence.

Colossians 3:23-24 ESV Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.

Are you making room for the Holy Spirit?

Have you considered why you do what you do?
