Do we need to clean our perspective?

The days before us are often seen through the lens of where we have come from, and often do point to where we are going. This means that we should expect to see a paper trail that got us to this place.

As human beings we are motivated by purpose, and it is that sense of purpose that keeps us alive. Our desire is not to just survive moment to moment, but live out of purpose with a clear direction in sight. When we are without direction it can seem that we are floundering and loosing our way. These become times of transition when it is obvious that change is either necessary, or on its way.  It is when what gave us purpose and satisfaction yesterday, is clearly missing today. This then becomes a huge motivation to stretch our faith and thinking.

We can experience times in-between these periods of transition when we ask many questions, even while seeing potential choices that will make our journey both interesting and beautiful.

I want my journey to be one where I am filled with expectation and awe. Awe of what God is doing with me, and expectation of what I have yet to experience. I know that these experiences will shape my overall perspective, a shaping which I consider a good thing. My desire is that my mind will be continually inquisitive for things I have yet to discover.

What is exciting is that there are many possibilities available to us as we walk out these days. Truthfully, sometimes we can get weary in our pursuit of these next steps, but perhaps we just need to clean our perspective, and take a second look!

Matthew 6:21-22 NLT Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. "Your eye is the lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light.

Does clean your plate sound familiar?

I like it, what is it?
