Can you let your yes be yes, and your no be no?

Do you have a difficult time saying no even when it is exactly what you need to do? Or, do you put the needs and desires of others before you look to what is best for you?

To be clear, I am not encouraging us to be selfishly driven by our own needs, but I am advocating that we seek our direction from the Holy Spirit.

I know that we have all been in this place. We want to be sensitive to the feelings of others, especially those we love and have been with for some time in fellowship, but at the end of the day our stand must be clear. Clear to ourselves and to others.

Timing is everything, and we are all short on time these days. Funny, because there are still the same number of hours in the day, and days in the months and years. Somehow time is of the essence, and I believe we can all agree.

With our days being so intentional and important, we must follow after what we know is pertinent to this time. We must listen and act upon what is clearly driving us to that personal place of connection. At this point, I would like to state what I think is probably obvious.

If we are where we are not meant to be and doing what we are not meant to be doing, then we are missing out on where we are meant to be and what we are meant to be doing.

Phew, I need a breath after that sentence.

When the timing is right, there will be no denying it. However, if today is not that day, then we must give ourselves permission to simply say no and press on to where we are clearly called to be today.  Can I get an amen?

Colossians 4:6 NIV Let your conversation always be full of grace, seasoned with salt so that you may know how to answer everyone.

Do you pray for your country?

Will we seek truth even if it brings correction?
