A deep relationship is one where you can truly reveal what is going on inside of you, without any fear of condemnation or judgment. It is a relationship that is based on trust, that is rooted in knowledge of each other, and is usually based upon a shared history. However, even if a relationship is in its infancy stage, it can still be powerfully real.
When I think about relationship, the close ones I have with those that mean the most to me on earth, I can never do so without thinking of my relationship with the Lord. It is this relationship that sets the standard as it defines all other relationships in our lives. This relationship is one that will certainly last for all eternity. Our relationship with God may begin here, but the length and breath of it will not be fully realized until we are there! When I reflect on my relationship with the Lord, I know that it has made every other relationship in my life better!
Here in this life relationships can be difficult and often times impossible to rectify. But, it is when we take time to cultivate healthy relationships, that we actually grow closer to the Lord. In my opinioin it is impossible to separate the two when you understand how closely they are related. When we obediently pursue the command to love others, even as we love ourselves, we will often experience the unexplainable.
The Lord knows that it is us who will be changed dramatically as we love outside of ourselves. How do we define intimacy? My definition begins with love and acceptance, and then moves deeper into loving others.
Genesis 5:23-24 NLT Enoch lived 365 years, walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him.
