Daily I read a devotional from a seasoned pastor. Yesterday he spoke about God not being limited by the impossible things that we see before us. He quoted the familiar Scripture in Luke, "For with God nothing will be impossible." I never tire of pondering this word. It brings me peace, hope, and confirmation that God is for me.
I do remember a time in my life when I thought that this was a word for others, and yet not for me. It was a season of walking in the desert. But, even in that desert I know that the Lord made an oasis for me. It became my place of refuge. One where I would literally sit by a river, letting the movement and life that I saw give comfort to my soul.
When I reflect back to those days, which I have heard people call the dark night of the soul, I can see personal fruit that was birthed. My quiet desperation kept me hungry for God, His hand to guide me along my way, and His tangible presence in my life. My prayer life and the consistent prayers of the people standing with me were powerful and effective. I received a healing that was nothing short of miraculous, and do indeed praise God for doing the impossible. He is faithful and true to His word, for nothing is impossible to those that believe.
Joyce Meyers likes to say that there is no testimony without the test. Amen sister!
