Do our words testify to what we believe?

In other words, do we speak out of the evidence of who we know God to be, or do our words create doubt in the hearts of others. The Word of God says that there is power in the words that we speak. We can speak life, or we can speak things of death.

Death to promises of God, death to dreams that have been deposited within our hearts, death to healing, and death to our hope in an eternal future with a loving God. Though we may not intend to curse ourselves with negative words, they do precisely this, because they steal from us, God's people.

If words are spoken over you that limit you, words that are counter to God's promises for you, words that are not in agreement with how God sees you, do not receive them.

Our life as believers is guaranteed by the sacrifice of Jesus, and any words spoken outside of God's truth are lies.

Proverbs 15:4 NIV The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.
