How do you react when you can't fix the situation?

Yesterday was my usual Wednesday morning spent in the company of believing women in my neighborhood. We are studying about the armor of God that Paul taught about in the book of Ephesians. It is something that we look forward to all week, not only because of the time we spend together, but for the richness of God’s Word which is so exciting.

However, there are times when technology just does not cooperate, as was the case yesterday. When this happens we must pull from deep within ourselves to accomplish what is needed, for God does indeed work all things for our good, and His glory. He will never disappoint us when we come to seek a deeper understanding of His Word, and He will accomplish all that He desires to do.

What I witnessed yesterday was a determination to carry on despite our technical issues. We spoke from the heart, a heart that has been fashioned by God, and for God. Every time we gather we are coming to know our Father more intimately, and to understand more clearly our position in this world. It is our position in this world from our Father’s perspective that we are after.

Consequently, whether we are using the latest technology available to man, or we are using our Bible with pen and paper, we will discover that we will not leave empty. We can always come as we are when we come to the Father with hungry hearts and willing spirits, but we will never go away the same as we arrived. C.S. Lewis said, “God doesn’t want something from us. He simply wants us.”

Proverbs 19:21 NIV Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

Have you been asked to put someone on the altar?

What kind of a week are you having?
