Do we understand the law of faith?

Our pastor recently gave a powerful message on faith. It was a message that I believe is life transforming, but it does require something from me. I have to shift my way of thinking!

I get excited when I hear things like, “God’s Word has the power to create, and if I say the same things that God says, then I will get a predictable outcome.” Without a doubt, I want a predictable outcome that is in agreement with God’s Word, His promises, and His plans for my life. I know I have said before what I am about to say again, so here goes. “I want everything that God has for me, and I don’t want to leave anything on the table.” For me, making this statement is simple and yet intense at the same time.

Faith is not operating under the law of averages. It demands that we truly understand that everything that Jesus did when He walked on this earth required a measure of faith, and we have that same measure of faith that Jesus Himself had. In fact, Jesus testified to this when He told His disciples in John 14, “Truly I tell you, the one who believes in Me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.”

Jesus was telling us that our faith will grow, just as His did, with each step that we take to believe in the supernatural power of God. The power of God to heal, and to restore in every area of our life. Essentially, when we believe in the power of God we will see our faith go from strength to strength!

The law of faith requires that we believe with our heart, and confess with our mouth. When we trust in God’s Word we will see the predicable outcome that His word declares. When we employ the principles of faith then we are calling things as God calls them, resulting in His predictable outcome, which will always be the very best for us. This outcome will always depend on God and His word, as we release our faith into that word.

Romans 10:17 CSB So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.
