My sister has the words ‘forever young’ on the front of her devotional book. I love this because it is the first thing she sees when she picks it up each morning. It is like making a statement of belief that begins the day on a positive note. To me this forever young is not merely appearance, although that is certainly part of it, but it speaks of the inner spirit of the person.
Today I read a quote which speaks into this exactly! It said, “I love things that age well. Things that don’t date, but that stand the test of time, while becoming a living example of the absolute best.”
It was a quote that was not necessarily speaking of a woman, but I read it that way. It spoke to me perfectly of how I want to age. To me it said aging is something to look forward to as a woman of substance. A woman who can stand even when tested. A woman who is still becoming her very best with each passing year. And finally, a woman who can demonstrate to others the difference between aging in style, and just getting old.
My advice to you, beautiful woman, is to press on and enjoy this outrageous ride called life!
