This morning the Holy Spirit directed me to the gospel of John. As I walked to get my Bible I came to understand why. In order for us to get revelation, we must be reading revelatory truth. It was so simple, and yet profound at the same time.
Two days ago, I mentioned in a post that I knew that the Lord was wanting to give me new revelation, so when I picked up my Bible I was reminded of that promise. Indeed, it is a promise of God as He tells us in Jeremiah 33:3, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and incomprehensible things you do not know.” The Bible is full of His promises, His declarations, and His decrees that He wants to bring to life in our life!
God’s Word is the only source of truth that is indisputable. The Bible has been God breathed, God inspired, and used by God to reveal His Person, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. God uses the logos to give us a message of life transforming power, and the Rhema to make a personal impact through His Holy Spirit.
I enjoy listening to the BBC because it references globally what is happening in the world, and yet it is not a source that I can say is without error, or bias. The content is interesting, but not what I use when making life decisions.
God’s Word is my only reliable and steadfast plumb line! As it says in Isaiah 28:17, “I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line.” The Bible is for revelation, for confirmation, for direction, for inspiration, for comfort, and quite literally for everything that I need.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, throughly equipped for every good work.
Ephesians 1:17 CSB I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
