Are we making it all about Jesus?

The other day I was listening to the song, ‘What a Beautiful Name’ sung by Hillsong Worship on Youtube. It is a worship song that moves me each time I listen to it. It simply takes me into that deep place of adoration for Jesus and for His Name. After all, that is what worship is all about. It is about worshipping Jesus, the Name above every Name. It places us in that posture of acknowledging that all power and majesty has been given to Jesus by the Father.

There is power in the Name of Jesus to break every chain! Perhaps this sounds familiar to you. There is a dynamic woman who sings this refrain with compassion and her own power, as she taps into what she knows is impossible to deny. With Jesus nothing is impossible, nothing will ever prosper over Jesus, and no sickness can stand against the power of Jesus.

What I like about each of these songs is that the focus is on Jesus. It is not about a circumstance that has us paralyzed, not about illness, not about broken relationships, or any other of the myriad of issues we sing about. True worship is all about Jesus.

Jesus came to heal. He came to heal our broken relationship with God, to heal our emotions, our bodies, and to unite our spirits with His. Jesus came to redeem us by paying the debt that the Father said must be paid, and for that reason alone, He deserves every ounce of worship that we can give Him.

John 4:23 CSB “But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship Him.”

Do we prosper from what we have learned?
