Where are your interests taking you?

I am watching a program that highlights the homes that primarily architects/artists/naturalists have put together for themselves and their families. It is fascinating to witness how people create environments that define what is important to them. And it becomes obvious there exists a driving element for these individuals to express themselves freely in ways that I imagine makes them feel more connected with self. What they create is not separate from who they are.

As women who believe, and who take our identity in that belief, we should be seeing, and living out of who we were created to be, knowing that it began when we were breathed into our mother’s wombs. The Father knew the unique characteristics we would have and how we would function out of those characteristics in this world.

Think how we are all beautifully intricate, our likes and dislikes, our gifts and talents, woven into that fine tapestry called us. We walk in a way that may look similar to someone we know, but upon careful examination it is obvious to see that we are all different. As being different, we bring to the table what no one else brings in quite the same way, and this is good.

What I observed, in the program, was how confident the individuals were in the the spaces they had created. In other words, they created those spaces to bring out the very best in them and for the enjoyment of others.

My conclusion is simple to put forward. Pursue the interests that you have and draw from those interests your own unique created edge. You don’t have to conform to anyone else’s ideas, nor do you need to be predictable, so others will applaud your efforts. You just have to be you! Let your interests bring you joy. Just like an abstract painting can speak of different things to different people, so are you and I free to be different!

Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship (His own master work, a work of art), created in Christ Jesus (reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used) for good works, which God prepared (for us) beforehand (taking paths which He set), so that we would walk in them (living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us).
