What does your path reveal about your journey?

The warrior in God’s army walks a different path. It is a well traveled path with stops along the way, but with nothing that will keep them from their forward motion. Of course, there will be expected times of needed rest, but those times will not be permanent.

As a warrior, you are alert to the path, having an expectation of movement, as well as surprise. The surprise comes from those moments when you thought you knew what was around the corner, but in reality you did not! There is an undeniable truth that exists. The path seasons a warrior in ways that are not entirely predictable.

The warrior does not always know how far the Lord will take them, but they have learned to trust any distance. That trust is far deeper than the events that unfold before them, or the circumstances that look to stop their movement. The unfamiliar does not have the hold on them as it did at one time, for they have navigated the deep waters and come out alive. Furthermore, diving in no longer holds the fear of not reemerging, no matter how deep they go. Isaiah 41:13, “For I the LORD your God keep hold of your right hand; (I am the Lord), who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.”

The warrior knows many things, but one simple truth has become clear. You must go deep into truth. Until you do, you cannot fully reveal truth to others. From faith in God comes a trust that you will not fall or fail, and once you have overcome self-doubt, then you can lead others down the path as well. That is what seasoned warriors do. They help the next generation to walk in victory!

The victory is never just for you. It is far broader and wider. It is for all those who are coming down the path behind you. They need to see the markers that you have left, so that they too can follow. They will experience the better way, the surer path, as you did, as they walk hand and hand with the Lord. It will be a personal path for all who are on it. It will be path that culminates in their destiny. Their responses will be quick, as they will recognize the only voice worth following. Isaiah 30:21 Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.

When your ears hear the voice of the Lord it will flood you with peace. His voice will bring you the assurance that you need as your walk. The dangers on the path are real, but the voice you obey will lead you safely through the traps set by the enemy.

If you stumble, you will be caught. If you get trapped in a snare, you will be cut free. If you fall into a pit, you will be lifted out. If a fire looks to block your way, the Spirit of God will blow it out. God promises to rescue you from all of the enemy’s plans. His plans to steal, kill, and destroy are met with a command to pursue, overtake, and recover all.

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
