Are you a believer who overcomes?

Understand that it’s not merely a question of believing God is capable, willing, or even good. Certainly, it does change your perception of God when you know that Scriptural truth backs up who He is, but those are facts that alone don’t make you an overcomer.

What makes you a radical overcomer is when your life circumstances look to define you one way, but you choose to believe that your Father has already delivered everything you need to you! Meaning you don’t see lack and insufficiency. What you see is an infinite supply of resources that are available to you today. You see life differently when you know you are well taken care of. This truth has set you free from the snares of deception. Whereas, the devil wants you to see yourself as an orphan, abandoned, and alone, your Father declares and decrees the exact opposite.

Jesus spoke of the Father in terms of love, acceptance, and forgiveness. His words centered on the Father, not on Himself. Jesus wanted us to live with the highest expectation and regard for our Father. He wanted us to know the Father as He knows Him.

John 15: 24 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the person whose ears are open to My words [who listens to My message] and believes and trusts in and clings to and relies on Him Who sent Me has (possesses now) eternal life. And he does not come into judgment [does not incur sentence of judgment, will not come under condemnation], but he has already passed over out of death into life.

We have passed out of death of health, money, lack of any kind, into life and that life has an eternal perspective.

In this psalm the Father’s character, desire, and position is defined.

Psalm 23 A Psalm of David.

The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.

He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.

He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him—not for my earning it, but] for His name’s sake.

Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with [a]oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.

Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.

Holy Spirit is teaching David through revelation truth about the Father. David knew the Father by the Spirit and He loved the Father. He was declared as a man after God’s own heart, not chasing after his own heart, but rather chasing after the Father. David came to an understanding of the Father, which in turn brought his own identity into a clearer picture.

David overcame the lion and the bear before he was prepared to face the giant. He became battle ready when no one was there to witness it except the Lord. Our secret place is our training ground.
