Often when we turn a corner it can be so subtle that we don't initially notice the shift. We can assume we are moving along a predicable path, when suddenly something looks different. It can be what we have been waiting and hoping for, or so totally off script that we are filled with surprise.
The interesting thing about corners is there are many that exist in our life time, perhaps too many to even count. What we end up remembering are the more significant ones that have lasting impact.
Forgiveness is such a corner. When we have rounded this one it becomes a landmark. Forgiveness may be what we extend or receive, either one brings deep restoration. Peace and joy become visibly apparent in places where they did not thrive in the past. It is this corner that will not be subtle for most of us, but highly significant.
Psalm 86:4-5 NIV Bring joy to your servant, Lord, for I put my trust in you. You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call on you.
