As believing women I know we are vested in prayer. Prayer has become a powerful tool that the Lord has used to stretch our faith as we have exercised the authority He has given us. We have witnessed how our prayers have matured throughout the various seasons of our lives. Our once self-focused prayers have become broader with a clearer spiritual perspective.
We have seen evidence of answered prayers as God has brought salvation, physical and emotional healing, restoration of relationships, and so much more. As a result, we have testimonies that have encouraged us to keep praying and pressing in with bold requests.
I believe that when the Lord puts it upon our hearts to pray specifically it is because of past obedience. It was that obedience to listen and pray that has proven that we are trustworthy and reliable. Essentially, through prayer we become ambassadors of Christ with the Holy Spirit as He works to accomplish much in the kingdom of God.
When we know we are part of that bigger picture, praying becomes very humbling for us. We experience God working in the world around us, and through those encounters we are changed.
Have you ever wondered if you are the answer to someone's prayer, a prayer that the Lord is answering for them by sending you? We may never know this side of heaven, but we do know that God works all things for good.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
