Are we tenacious in our pursuit of answers?

My youngest granddaughter is three and very inquisitive. On Sunday when she was over to visit with her brothers, and cousins, she was her usual curious self. This is something that I dearly love about her. She will ask you a question and then get very close to your face, looking directly into your eyes, as she waits for you to explain. As her gaze locks you in, there will be no escaping her inquiry.

I had further confirmation two days later of her tenacity, as this same granddaughter was full of questions, and they were not new ones. She returned to what we had been discussing on Sunday because she wanted further clarity.

I love this example of wanting to know truth and digging for it until you have it! I know I need more of this in my life. Where I don't settle until I feel that I have unearthed all there is about a particular subject. The relevance comes when we are personally going after the answers, knowing that once we have found what we are seeking, it will mean much more to us.

Getting the answers that we seek must first begin with questions, and those questions are not always easy to ask. Some of us may feel that we are better off not asking hard questions because the answers might be difficult to hear. I believe that often this is more about the timing than anything else. Whereas, once we didn't want to know, now we find that we must know.

My personal experience has always been that God will lead me down the path that is the very best for me, as His timing is impeccable, and He knows the questions that burn inside of me that need answers.

Matthew 7:8 NIV For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Do we recognize the dangers of intellectual consent?
