Where are your daydreams taking you?

I recently attended a conference where the main speaker spoke about daydreaming. She brought a very interesting perspective to what many of us may have come to believe as idle time wasters.

Do you remember being in school and daydreaming about everywhere, except where you found yourself? In elementary school it might have been the sleepovers with friends, or playing games with the neighborhood kids. It could have been anything, and it was usually called out as being a negative thing to do. Often teachers seemed to read the signs of daydreaming, and were quick to condemn. I now have a different frame of reference. One where I am not trying to escape what is going on in my life, but as a way to transition into where I need to be going. This new awareness changed a great deal for me.

The speaker shared that God showed her that much of her daydreaming was from Him. She said this surprised her, and at the same time blessed her. Many times she thought that she was just allowing distractions to steal her focus from praying. This woman has a healing ministry,  and what she was daydreaming about were people getting healed. God was asking her to come into agreement with what He was birthing in her heart, the desire to see people healed.

So, what are you daydreaming? I believe we should be examining those dreams, and asking God if there is something significant about them. We may be delighted, and surprised, to realize that there is indeed a message for us in going forward.

I do believe that there are two important points not to be missed. One is that God speaks in many ways, and He is not limited in how He chooses to speak. The other is that when God speaks it will always line up with His Word. His Word is true and God will not tell us to go or do anything that is counter to His Word. In the case of the speaker sharing about healing, it lines up with the Word of God, and comes into agreement with that Word. God knows the dreams He has for us and His desire is for complete fulfillment.

Isaiah 53:5  NKJV But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

Are we tenacious in our pursuit of answers?

Don't I know you?
