Don't I know you?

Yesterday was a great day. I had an encounter in the grocery store that made my trip down the road totally worth it.

While I was standing at the meat counter, I looked to my right to see a young woman and her teenage son standing next to me. I looked at her and said, "Hello." She responded in like manner and then asked, "Don't I know you?" My response was, "No, I don't believe so," but she was insistent that we knew each other. After some really pleasant conversation we parted company, with no resolution as to why she felt we had met before. What was interesting was that I felt meeting her was not an accident, and perhaps we might even meet again.

By the time I was over grinding some coffee beans, I had my answer. We did know each other. The Holy Spirit revealed that she was a believer, and therefore we had a connection by the Spirit. I love how the Lord works, because no sooner did I have this revelation when I looked to my left and saw my new acquaintance with her son. I called out her name, she stopped, turned back to me and said, "Yes, Barbara." I told her the Holy Spirit had given me our connection, it was Jesus! She smiled and said, "I am a Christian" with tears in her eyes. It was so beautiful.

This was a moment between two women from different cultural backgrounds, bound by love for  Jesus, who did not allow barriers to keep them apart.

Acts 5:32 NIV "We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him."

Where are your daydreams taking you?
