So, where are you storing your dreams? Are they in a place that is easily accessed, or buried deeply away? If you have hidden them so well is it possible that you don’t know where to look for them? You may have thought that keeping them in the dark would keep the light of disappointment from shining upon them, but light is exactly what they need.
There is a song by Christian recording artist Rita Springer that has a verse that came to mind immediately. It says, “When I thought I lost me, you knew where I left me.”This speaks to me because when we bury away our dreams we are buried with them. Truthfully, what has been birthed within our spirits is deeply woven there and not easily separated from us.
If you have dreams that you have not been able to discard, then you must believe that you are holding onto them for a reason. Perhaps it has been years and they now seem like distant memories. Maybe you have wondered how you ever thought they were possible, and yet somewhere they still linger.
There is a movie from 2003 that showed a sailor with letters on his fingers that spelled out '‘HOLD FAST” Two simple words that really speak volumes. We must be faithful to what has been imparted within our hearts, and wait until the appointed time to see them come to fruition. In the meantime, we must hold fast! And our holding fast is far more than about our dreams. It is about holding fast onto the promises of God.
Hebrews 10:23 NKJV Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
